Robb Flynn and Adam Duce formed Machine Head on October 12, 1991 in Oakland, California. Flynn left Vio-Lence cause of internal conflicts and along with Duce recruited guitarist Logan Mader and drummer Tony Costanza to form Machine Head. The band's name was thought of by Flynn because it "sounded cool", despite the popular belief that it came from the Deep Purple album of the same name. Band recorded a demo and soon get signed to Roadrunner Records. Before release debut album Burn My Eyes, Constanza left the band and was replaced by Chris Kontos. There was 4 more line up changes in history of Machine Head, but core stay the same. Mix of Pantera groove and thrash aggression gives us Machine Fucking Head!!!

2001 - Supercharger
Supercharger was released in October, 2001, just weeks after the 9/11 Terrorist Attacks. The lead single "Crashing Around You", was pulled from MTV
and rock radio despite being the "most added" track in the United
States. The pull was a result of the metaphorical "crashing" lyric in
the song and the burning San Francisco skyline in the video. Machine Head's support tour for the album was done without help from their label Roadrunner Records, and after the release of Hellalive to fulfill their contract, led the band to a two-year hiatus from the label's American branch. Another underrated album...
- Robb Flynn - vocals, guitar
- Ahrue Luster - lead guitar
- Adam Duce - bass
- Dave McClain - drums

had left the band due to creative differences, so album was written by
the remaining three band members, with then-temporary guitarist Phil Demmel only joining in for the recording sessions.

- Adam Duce - bass guitar, backing vocals
- Dave McClain - drums
- Phil Demmel - lead guitars

2007 - The Blackening
The album's first single, "Aesthetics of Hate",
is a retaliation to an article written by William Grim for the website
Iconoclast. Titled "Aesthetics Of Hate: R.I.P. Dimebag Abbott, &
Good Riddance", the article praised the murder of musician Dimebag Darrell, while he was performing with the band Damageplan on December 8, 2004. Machine Head frontman Robb Flynn said the song was written as a "fuck you" to Grim and tribute to Dimebag. The text in the mirror of the album's cover reads "the mirror which flatters not."
