It's hard to say how amazing this band is, really. Hogjaw was formed in 2006 in Arizona. Band is playing pure southern rock, they released to great albums as far, "Devil in the Details" in 2008 and "Ironwood" in 2010. Must have for southern rock fans...

Hailing from the desert land of Arizona – Hogjaw is bringing in the rock from the Southwest. The quartet includes; Jonboat Jones (vocals/guitar), Kreg Self (lead guitar), Elvis D (Bass) & J. "Kwall" Kowalski (drums) deliver a dose of genuine rocking goodness.
Hogjaw was formed in late 2006 through the power of jamming, "When we realized what we had, it just snowballed." Everyone in the band are standing friends from High School with one common goal, rocking, it became almost instant for the music to develop. With years of playing in label bands, touring afar, and playing beat-up acoustic guitars in and around the hills, these guys find their talents on a way of their own. It is spoken through the songs and with support from everyone surrounding Hogjaw; things couldn´t be more fun for the group!
Hogjaw have had great opportunities traveling all over the world playing major events, clubs, bars, rallies and benefits with acts such as; Cowboy Mouth, Helmet, RATT, Valiant Thorr, Gin Blossoms, Jimmy Van Zant + more. They have been touring since 2010 in the States and as recent as doing a full-scale tour in Europe in 2011.
These past few years Hogjaw´s fan base has brought them some great accomplishments they are excited with. "Devil in the Details" was among the top selling CD´s in 2008-2009 through "Cdbaby.com", Hogjaw videos have been in the top 10 at MTV partner "Ourstage.com" and they have European and American distributors with proven turn around sales. On a local level their first installment was acknowledged as a top five record of the year by Phoenix "The New Times, You asked for it" as well as a nomination in the hard rock category for "The New Times, Summer of Sound" concert series in 2009. In 2010 "Ironwood" continued and elevated success by boosting CD sales taking the #1 spot at "Cdbaby.com" for three straight weeks as well as their song’s being added to episodes on Versus Network cable TV show "3-Gun Nation".
With the release of the third installment to the Hogjaw catalog, "Sons of the Western Skies"; in early 2012, the band is on course. "S.O.T.W.S" proves these guys have talent that is going to keep rolling through the songs defining the artist and keeping true to what they stand for. Songs like "The Sum of all Things," "Hells Half Home," & "Road of Fools"...are a part of the 10 song Southwestern album movement.
So, 2011 brought Hogjaw 2 vinyl records, a European tour & U.S touring. So what’s in store for 2012? A 3rd record "Sons of the Western Skies" get´s released January 24th. It will be available in CD/Vinyl/Digital format. There is a full scale tour booked through Europe in April (please check schedule for dates) and there will be more touring in the States coming this summer. I’m sure there are a few other things in store but we will leave that for now.
